PS…If you have a vehicle with over 50,000 miles on it (gasoline or diesel)…I STRONGLY suggest using Amsoil’s Engine Flush.
Why? Amsoil synthetic oil will clean your engine of harmful deposits and buildup, possibly resulting in excess sludge accumulating in your oil filter.
In 2018 I purchased a 2013 one-owner Cadillac. It was in mint condition with 52,000 miles on it. Maintenance records showed the owner changed the oil and serviced it on a regular basis. The oil and filter were changed at the dealership before I drove it off the lot.
Drove 3 miles home, pulled into my garage, and checked the oil on the dipstick. The oil was a nice bright honey color. I added one bottle of the Amsoil engine flush, started the engine, and idled it for 15 minutes. When I drained the oil, it was black as a chunk of coal!
If you are a DIY…simply pour one bottle into the engine oil filler opening for gasoline engines…two bottles for diesel engines and let idle for 15 minutes. Do not run down the highway. Drain the oil and remove the oil filter and add the Amsoil synthetic oil and the Oil Filter.
For those taking their vehicle to a local dealership or shop…drive to the location 15 minutes before your appointment. Do not add the flush and run down the highway. Park in the parking lot…pop the hood and pour the engine flush into the engine oil filler opening and let idle for 15 minutes. Have the technician drain the oil and remove the old oil filter and install your Amsoil synthetic oil and Oil Filter.
